The End is a culmination of ideas that started as prototypes. These are now in their final stage as production pieces. Working with inspired manufacturers has enabled me to create these pieces that have exactly the same spirit as the original studio-made prototypes.

Often we have been able to make improvements by applying new technologies and traditional skills. We have made fantasy become reality.

The dramatic presentation of The End emphasises for me the emotions locked into the pieces as well as it being a demonstration and celebration of being alive.

The installation is laid out as a series of bewitching and magical scenes. These include a dreamlike swinging bench scenario, a Black Moment, uncovering the black glass dining table and leather chair for Moroso; a dazzling multicoloured display featuring the textile chandeliers made in Rio de Janeiro; studio pieces, such as a table with a pattern made up by hammering 1000’s of nails into wood and bright coloured glass designs.

The newly industrialised Doll Chair designed for Moroso will be featured with an entire wardrobe of dress covers, each telling a different story, inviting you to sit and dream.

By approaching the chair as a work of fashion, we have been able to unite different métiers. An industrial frame made of steel and foam is dressed in different covers, made from different materials. For me it is amazing to see the same chair taking on so many different personalities: dreaming, seductive, sinister, playful, innocent, luxuriant and in-your-face.
