Installation of custom-made Shadowy Chairs at Wakehurst Gardens as part of their summer festival Meadowland, a celebration of meadows.
Six Shadowy chairs are placed back-to-back in a circle. This creates a resting place, a place to spend time, a place to slow down and to take in the environment through all our senses. To see more and more details of the grasses and flowers, hear the insects buzzing, feel the sun and wind. To develop a connection with the place and a deeper, meaningful engagement.
Each chair has a matching cushion with artworkd depicting plants and animals that you can encounter in this meadow.
The Shadowy Chairs are crafted by expert artisans in Senegal and produced by the furniture company Moroso, available in a range of colours.
