Our Elements upholstery for Kvadrat has won the Best Upholstery award in Wallpaper magazine’s Design Awards 2011.
Chosen as one of the Best Domestic Designs, it’s described as being ‘natural disorder, done beautifully’.
Tord Boontje contributed to a new year message by Crane.tv, an online video magazine for contemporary culture, and Swarovski.tv to wish everyone a sparkling new year!

Tord Boontje is one of 52 artists who have donated a piece of work to Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, as part of their exhibition 52 weeks.
Each piece in the exhibition, organised by Shelter in collaboration with 20 Hoxton Square Projects, represents a week in the year. Our week, or National Day, is Arbor Day - a day to encourage the planting and caring of trees!
All 52 pieces will also be auctioned in aid of Shelter.
The exhibition runs from 25 to 27 November 2010 at 20 Hoxton Square Projects in London.

As part of Milan Design Weekend, Moroso in association with Kvadrat, present furniture by Tord Boontje. Kicking off with an evening event with Tord Boontje, on show were existing designs produced in new colours and upholstered in new fabrics.
The four-day Milan Design Weekend was themed ‘The Art of Good Living, a New Domestic Intimacy’. Sponsored by the City of Milan and organised by publishing groups Mondadori and RCS, the event was created to support the design world, providing the consumer with a unique opportunity to visit businesses, shops and showrooms during a long weekend of diverse cultural activities relating to art, architecture and furnishings.
Studio Tord Boontje has designed the cover for the special edition of a new translation of Doctor Zhivago, which has just been published.

As part of London Design Festival 2010, Tord Boontje and a small team of students from the Royal College of Art took part in Established & Sons ‘Design Against The Clock’, a series of live design performances.
The final piece is on show as part of Established & Sons exhibition, which also includes designs by Richard Woods, Sebastian Wrong and Lars Friedeen, Gavin Turk, and Committee, and runs until October 6th at their Mayfair Gallery.

Lab Craft: Digital adventures in contemporary craft is a new Crafts Council touring exhibition that previews at Tent London at London Design Festival from 23 to 26 September before launching at the Turnpike Gallery in Leigh, Greater Manchester, from 30 October to 18 December 2010.
Lab Craft features 26 makers who combine the hand, mind and eye, technical mastery of tools and material and aesthetic sensibility with cutting-edge digital technologies such as rapid prototyping, laser cutting, laser scanning and digital printing.
The exhibition is curated by design commentator Max Fraser and designed by maker Tomoko Azumi and features textiles, ceramics, furniture, jewellery, glass, lighting and much more.
