I saw this as an opportunity to experiment with architecture and to try something new. I was also inspired by visiting the Gaudi buildings and park in Barcelona last summer for the first time, strengthened my feeling that architecture should be exciting.
I have always been fascinated by the way a draped fabric folds itself in very organic shapes. For this room, the idea was to make a huge blanket that we hang from the ceiling of the building. By spacing the hanging points, we can control the form of the room. Because the blanket insulates very well, it provides warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer.
