Swarovski 120th anniversary video

Tord shares insights into how he uses crystal to push the creative boundaries of his work in the latest of Swarovski’s series of exclusive video interviews marking its 120th anniversary.

From the Blossom chandelier, originally conceived for Swarovski Crystal Palace, to Cherry Rocks, jewellery of richly coloured crystals combined with cherry pips from his aunt’s garden, the collaborative relationship is one that’s lasted over a decade.

Our most recent project is the Chambers of Wonder at Swarovski Kristallwelten (Swarovski Crystal Worlds), which reopened in April 2015 to coincide with the anniversary. Featuring Silent Light, designed with Alexander McQueen in 2003 for the Victoria and Albert Museum London, the 6 metre high tree is made up of 150,000 sparkling Swarovski crystals.

Swarovski’s series of videos features top creatives and brands from a diverse range of design fields—fashion, jewellery, accessories, lighting, automotive and electronics
