Inflorescence

Inflorescence

Inflorescence was an experiment to see how the computer can be used to randomly draw flower patterns. The software was developed in collaboration with Andrew Allenson. The drawings that are generated can then be made physical by using other digital processes with, for example, a computer controlled embroidery machine or digital printing, or 3-dimensionally by stereo lithography.

I like the idea that alongside the hand drawing and hand making which takes place in the studio, other things get made which are never touched by hand, where a piece of software makes the decisions.
