Birdman

Birdman

A limited edition print which was available exclusively from the Design Museum, London.

Drawing by Tord Boontje, text by Emma Woffenden.

By the side of the river sat a furry birdman. Gazing down he saw and fell in love with a fish and the fish loved him back. But, as everyone knows, beasts who breathe air and beasts who breathe water cannot marry. So, he took her gently in his beak, tipped his head back and consumed the fish so they became one. The fish hidden within him made his heart flutter but he never had his toes nibbled again.

The End.

ps. It’s true. I saw all this whilst hidden in a weeping blossom tree and I was also weeping. It was a good camouflage.
