The 22nd Floor

The 22nd Floor

Designed with smaller spaces in mind, The 22nd Floor sofa is a system with very refined proportions. Slim enough to fit in many interiors, large enough to be very comfortable. The solid construction of aluminium panels bolted together keeps the sofa visually light and elegant. This industrial, modernist construction is complemented with wool and marble.

The frame of the Somewhere table is made of solid steel, bolted together like the structure of a building. The top can be a choice of marble, glass, wood or Corian.

The Anywhere chairs are designed to complement the Somewhere table both in form as well as size. The low backrest of these dining chairs makes it possible to slide them under the table, keeping the apartment visually clear.

Having moved back to the city, I became inspired by this cosmopolitan, urban environment.

The concept for this new direction came from a conversation with Patrizia, where we discussed how living in a city implies different requirements from furniture.

My aim was to create furniture that functions well in smaller spaces and at the same time is very elegant and well-made with beautiful materials.

The working title of this collection is The 22nd Floor. I imagine a person who lives in a city on the 22nd floor, how their apartment may look and how the view of the city on the other side of the windows influences and becomes part of the interior.

The furniture is made from a combination of industrial materials, such as steel and aluminium, with the construction visible. This is contrasted with very elegant materials such as wool, marble, wood and Corian: contrasts such as those that you can find in a city.
