Milan 2016: The launch of Lux Orbit & Senegal-O Chair

At the prestigious Salone Del Mobile in Milan this year, Tord unveiled his new collaboration with Atelier Swarovski. As part of the their new Atelier Swarovski Home brand, Tord designed Lux Orbit; a series of luxury homeware objects including lanterns, wine coolers, nut bowls and a caviar set. Tord took inspiration from patterns found in nature, the cosmos, star formations and science fiction.

“I see the crystals as small pieces of light and points of colour... I imagine they could come from the other side of space or from the future. “

Alongside Tord’s objects were works from a host of other iconic designers, including Ron Arad, Daniel Liebskind and the late Zaha Hadid, together forming the inaugural Atelier Swarovkski Home collection.

Also launched in Milan was Tord's new series for Moroso, the Senegal-O Chair and Weavers Bench. The Senegal-O Chair was inspired by the design of a dreamcatcher gifted to Tord by his daughter. The circle creates a large backrest, which surrounds you like a halo when you sit against it.
